Annie and Mark are a breath of fresh air. They keep things fun and playful most of the time, but beneath all the laughs is something really special: two people who have clearly found their soulmate in one another.
With family living abroad and out of town, and as two people who are much more likely to be living in the moment than reaching for a phone or camera, they realised they didn't actually have many photographs together that they truly loved. So, this experience was about changing that and capturing the beautiful life they've curated together in Sydney, exactly as it feels right now, but with a sprinkle of Dear elegance and magic.
And of course, their fur baby Jasper had to be part of it.
When we started planning their experience, we wanted it to feel less like a photoshoot and more like an afternoon Annie and Mark would genuinely enjoy together.
They both live busy, full lives, so weekends are their chance to slow things down. They'll often jump on the motorbike, head somewhere local and spend some quality time together - with Jaspie in tow, of course.
So that's exactly what we planned.
We set up a beautiful picnic in one of their local parks, giving them a chance to settle in, enjoy a drink and hang out together while Jasper happily made himself part of the action.
Then came one of our favourite parts of every Dear experience: the letter reading.
There was something particularly lovely about watching Annie and Mark shift from their usual jokes and playful banter into something a little deeper. Taking the time to write down what they mean to one another created this beautiful pause in the afternoon and a chance to say the things that can so easily go unsaid when life is busy.
And, in true Annie and Mark fashion, it wasn't serious for too long. There were plenty of laughs amongst the more tender moments, which somehow made it feel even more them.
The two took Jasper for a little stroll before finishing the afternoon with a joyride on the motorbike.
Every part of the experience felt relaxed, playful and completely true to who they are. It was simply Annie and Mark doing the things they love, in a place that's part of the life they've built together.
What we loved most about their experience was the opportunity to capture a chapter of their story that might otherwise have gone largely undocumented.
The ordinary weekends. The local park. Jasper trotting alongside them. The motorbike rides. The laughs and silly moments. The way they look at each other when the other isn't paying attention.
They're the little things that can feel so everyday while you're living them, but one day become the things you cherish most.
And with family on the other side of the world, these photographs and film also give Annie and Mark something they haven't had much of before - a way to share a little piece of the life they've created together with the people they love.
That's what we want every DEAR experience to feel like. Not stepping out of your life for a photoshoot, but taking a moment to really be in it. To celebrate your person, the rituals you've created and all the seemingly ordinary things that make your relationship yours and seeing the magic in them.
Because one day, those ordinary things might just be the memories you treasure most.
