Ahhh Baz and Scott (said in a wistful exhale)...two of the most wonderful humans with a relationship so strong and beautiful that you just know, will endure any storm.

What a privilege to capture these two enjoying their Friday ritual - sunrise coffee and a dip at the beach. A reminder of the magic in the little things, even on the toughest of days.

There’s something special about capturing people in places that already feel like home to them.

For Basilia and Scott, that's Bronte.

Whenever life allows, they start their Friday mornings with an early coffee, watching the sun come up and enjoying a swim together before the day begins. It's a simple ritual, but one that's become an important part of their relationship and has grounded them through some of life's more challenging seasons.

When planning their experience, we decided to shoot just down the road at Maroubra. While Bronte is where they spend so much of their time, Maroubra offered a little more space and a quieter setting, allowing them to relax, settle into the experience and simply focus on each other.

We met before sunrise on one of those perfect summer mornings where the sky seemed to put on a show. As the first light crept across the ocean, Baz and Scott enjoyed a coffee picnic we'd set up for them, taking in the sunrise before the rest of the morning unfolded.

Then came our favourite part; the letter reading.

One of the most meaningful parts of every DEAR experience is taking the time to write a letter to your soulmate. It's a chance to slow down and say the things that often get lost in the pace of everyday life. Watching Baz and Scott read their letters to one another was incredibly special. Their smiles, quiet moments and genuine emotion reminded us exactly why this ritual sits at the heart of every DEAR experience.

From there, we wandered along the rocks, capturing the little things that make their relationship theirs - the easy conversation, the laughter, the quiet moments between shots and the way they naturally gravitate towards one another. Nothing felt forced, just Baz and Scott being themselves.

It felt only fitting to finish the experience the way they usually do, diving into the water together as the world slowly came to life.

What we loved most about this experience wasn't the incredible sunrise or the beautiful location. It was that every part of the morning reflected who they are as a couple, giving them the opportunity to slow down, connect and celebrate the life and relationship they've built together.

That's what DEAR is all about, not creating moments for the camera, but creating space for people to reconnect with one another. The photographs and film simply become a timeless reminder of how that chapter of their story felt - something to return to and treasure for years to come.
